Phone calls I made to hospital searching for Keith's eyeglasses and belongings.

Because of the Geodon nightmare along with not being notified of drug changes / issues, I started visiting Keith every other week so I could see Keith in person to see how he was doing.

Fall 2006 Keith started improving after the shunt.  During my visits while at the mall or zoo, I would encourage Keith to get up out of his wheelchair and walk behind it for support.    Keith made a great effort and was successful walking behind his chair but the minute we returned to TideWay staff demanded Keith get back into his wheelchair.  As I continued to encourage Keith to get up walking, countless times during my visits, Keith would say to me, "they don't like walkies".  Of the 20 plus clients at TideWay only Keith and two other clients can walk unassisted.

Also to assist Keith to get out of the wheelchair and to increase his ability to walk further distances, I bought a heavy duty 'walker with a seat' so at anytime while walking at the zoo or wherever Keith could sit and rest.   Keith's walker is one of many items Moody National Bank the guardian of Keith's estate has denied me reimbursement.

Fall 2006 through fall 2013 I visited Keith nearly every other week but since I continue to be forced to use personal funds to provide for Keith, my financial situation is so dire my visits are less frequent in 2014 to present which is devastating for both Keith and myself.

Keith had already been on Topamax for seizures then on Sept 7 2006 Dr Masel added Depakote medication for seizures.

Sept 2006 Keith had to be taken to UTMB emergency room for seizures.

August 2006 med sheet Keith being taken off Geodon and put back on Seroquel.

It was horrifying to see Keith in this condition and infuriating to learn it was because of medication change by Dr Masel.    Matters get worse for Keith.    I believe Keith had a severe reaction to Geodon causing fluid build up on his brain.    Hydrocephalus, which required a shunt [hole drilled into his skull with a tube running down into his chest cavity to drain fluid from his brain] inserted, Oct 2006, to drain the fluid from his brain.

Sept 7 2006 Dr Masel put Keith on Depakote for seizures without my knowledge or consent.

While Keith has made significant improvements recovering from the damage done by the Geodon, to this day Keith hasn't completely recovered.

Dr Masel took it upon himself to change Keith's medication without my knowledge or consent using Geodon medication for "issues of weight control, it was elected to switch...".

While at TideWay from 1/2004 to 2006 before Geodon Keith's weight remained ~ 255 lbs.   Keith was stable, completely mobile without any assistance, no incontinence problems and capable of exercising.    Spring 2006  I knew during a phone conversation when Keith’s speech was slurred something was seriously wrong.   When I arrived at TideWay the RN (Anna) took me in her office to warn me about Keith’s horrible condition.    I was horrified when I saw Keith in a wheelchair, with his head rolled back, unable to speak clearly and sitting in a pool of urine.   Instead of Dr Masel/TideWay providing Keith with exercise Dr Masel took it upon himself without my knowledge or consent to take Keith off Seroquel medication which he had been on for many years and put Keith on Geodon.    Dr Masel put Keith on Geodon because Geodon causes weight loss.     Not only did Keith lose ~40 lbs in a matter of months, Keith now had incontinence problems and was confined to a wheel chair unable to stand, walk, talk or feed himself.

At the trial in regards to permitting Keith to travel to NJ for Thanksgiving 2005, TideWay's Director Sean McCutchen (husband of TideWay's lawyer Maureen McCutchen) and Gary Seal, TideWay's Director of Clinical Programs made Keith into this monster who required one to two specially trained personnel to be with him at all time.

I was with Keith in the hospital the day of the shunt operation and was flying back to NJ the next day.   That afternoon I contacted the RN at TideWay and asked who would be coming to the hospital to stay with Keith later that night when I left .    TideWay's RN, Anna, stated, "no one".  When the hospital nurse came into the room, I asked if she was aware Keith had a brain injury.   She said,  "no!"    The nurse asked Keith a few questions which made it clear to her Keith had a brain injury.    I then asked the nurse are you familiar with TideWay?    The hospital nurse again said, "no!".     I asked the nurse to be sure staff members were made aware Keith had a brain injury and to please keep an eye on him.   TideWay left a brain injured man, who at this time still had severe short term memory issues, in a hospital unaccompanied with the hospital staff totally unaware Keith had a brain injury.      Sean McCutchen and Gary Seale made into a monster requiring one to two specially trained staff members to be with him at all time yet Keith spent two days in the hospital alone before being taken back to TideWay.    After returning to TideWay, when I called to talk to Keith, staff stated Keith didn't have his glasses.   Keith was taken back to TideWay with no shoes, wallet or eyeglasses.   Keith cannot see without his glasses.   I had to call the hospital to search for Keith's personal belongings.   Later that night TideWay's RN called me and said someone from the hospital came and dropped Keith's belongings off at TideWay.
