There is a Walmart adjacent to TideWay.   Keith would gladly walk back and forth to Walmart a hundred times a day.

In 2010 Keith was forced on Metformin and Lantus due to type 2 diabetes (which I think would have been avoided in the first placed had TideWay provided Keith exercise).   I encouraged Keith to help himself because TideWay was not going to help him get off the medications.   I encouraged Keith to walk and he did excellent walking around the facility and parking lot.   Eventually TideWay started having staff take Keith on walks.   For some reason Dr Masel stopped Keith's Lantus from being lowered(stopped at 20 units).    After taking a closer look at Keith's blood sugar numbers I couldn't see why lowering the Lantus dosage was discontinued so I took Keith to UTMB family Dr Hurt.    Dr Hurt worked with Keith and me and in fall 2015 Keith had been taken off and remains off all diabetes medications.

Note TideWay's letter head

"Long-Term Brain Injury Rehabilitation"

Feb 2011 TideWay' exercise log

TideWay's letter head indicates "Rehabiltation" and uses Transitional Learning Centers addresss not TideWay's address of 6444 Central City Blvd.

Sept 2013 TideWay's exercise log

Review after review Skilled Services:  "Mr Hanker has refused every attempt for exercise."

When I asked Dr Masel how is it a rehabilitation facility cannot provide a client with exercise?    Dr Masel's response was "TideWay is not a rehabilitation facility."

Exercise

Keith refused exercise because he didn't want to ride stationary bike

An ongoing problem is Keith's physical well being.    He is completely out of shape having no muscle, agility, flexibility nor endurance because TideWay does not provide Keith with exercise.    Keith has always liked walking but the only two exercise options available by TideWay are either stationary bike or pool neither of which Keith has any interest.
