When I arrive for a visit with Keith, before leaving TideWay the minute I ask Keith if he'd be interested in going to the zoo or somewhere outdoors Keith will immediately head towards his room and say I need to get my hat. Keith is bald so he always wants to protect his head.
April 2008 TideWay had Keith sit outside in full sun all day selling plants at Moody Gardens. When I visited Keith a week later, Keith's head was still red and blistering from the severe sunburn. TideWay blamed it on Keith for not taking his hat. Keith didn't know he was going to be outside selling plants. Staff should have either bought Keith a hat from Moody Gardens or taken him back to the facility.
